Who we are

Sal & Shelly's Seaside Adventure is a small independent business based in Margate, Kent, run as a sole trader.

Ordering

Orders are placed through this website. Once your order is confirmed and payment received, we'll be in touch with your order number and the details of how your kit is reaching you. All orders are subject to availability.

Getting your kit

There are two ways to get your kit, chosen when you order:

• Royal Mail post. 1st or 2nd class. Orders placed before 1pm are posted the same day. Orders placed after 1pm are posted the next working day.
• Collection at the Clocktower, right by the beach. We'll email you a collection time and a collection code, usually within 90 minutes of your order, though it can take longer on busy days. Please have your code ready when you arrive.

Uncollected orders are held for 7 days. After that the order is cancelled and refunded in full.

Pricing and payment

All prices are in pounds sterling. We are not currently VAT registered, so no VAT is charged. Payment is taken at the time of ordering through our secure checkout.

Changing your mind

Because you're buying online, you have 14 days from the day you receive your kit to change your mind and cancel, under the Consumer Contracts (Information, Cancellation and Additional Charges) Regulations 2013.

Tell us by email or phone within those 14 days, then return the kit to us within 14 days of telling us. The kit needs to be unused and in the condition you received it. Return postage is yours to cover unless the kit is faulty.

We'll refund you within 14 days of getting the kit back, or of you showing us proof you've sent it.

Faulty or damaged kits

Every kit is packed by hand and checked before it goes out, but if something arrives damaged, missing or not working as it should, get in touch by email or phone and we'll sort it out.

Under the Consumer Rights Act 2015, goods must be as described, of satisfactory quality and fit for purpose. If your kit isn't, you have 30 days from receiving it to reject it for a full refund. After 30 days we'll repair or replace it, and if that isn't possible you're entitled to a refund.

Return postage on a faulty kit is on us. You don't need the original packaging to make a claim, and none of this affects your legal rights.

Safety and supervision

The kits contain self-guided activity materials. All activities are undertaken voluntarily and under the supervision and responsibility of a parent or guardian. We don't supervise participants and we don't control outdoor environments including beaches, parks and public spaces.

Parents and guardians are responsible for assessing weather, tides, terrain, wildlife and suitability for their child before taking part. To the fullest extent permitted by law, Sal & Shelly's Seaside Adventure is not liable for injury, loss, damage or accidents arising from participation in the activities, except where caused by proven negligence. Nothing in these terms limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud.

Explorer Gallery and photos

The Explorer Gallery is for photos of decorated boxes and beach crafts only. Please keep children out of shot. Photos that arrive with a child in them will be deleted rather than published.

By sending us a photo you're confirming it's yours to send and that you're happy for it to appear on this website.

We won't share submitted photos with third parties, and you can ask us to take any photo down at any time by emailing us. There's more detail in our privacy policy.

Intellectual property

All characters, illustrations, written content and branding associated with Sal & Shelly's Seaside Adventure are the original work of the creator and may not be reproduced, copied or used without written permission.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales.
